The dismissive slur of women drivers has become a sexist cliché today, left in the politically incorrect past. But is there anything to it? A recent study by Diamond – an insurance company purely for women drivers – has revealed some shocking statistics about the habits of some women drivers.
This research states that 16% of women have crashed or had a near miss because of applying makeup and that 7% take their hands completely off the wheel to do it.
34% have eaten breakfast while driving, 47% have checked text messages, 33% brushed their hair, 32% drunk hot drinks, 17% checked emails and a worrying 9% have read the newspaper on the road.
Despite a minority of dangerous women drivers, as a gender they are no worse than men. Numerous men also practise bad habits behind the wheel from eating to texting and more. The important point to note is that if you have an accident that is caused by you not paying attention to the road, it is likely that you will be liable for any damages.
If you are not at fault for an accident you can make a car accident claim with Vamco, so get in touch today to find out what you are entitled to.
