A nasty little spat between two car insurers. Provident are refusing to repay Royal Sun Alliance car repair charges incurred in accidents caused by Provident’s policy holders because they have found out that RSA have inflated the repair invoices paid to their bodyshops. RSA claim that they have right to do so. Is this fraud or just shady practice? Looks like it will be up to a judge to decide because up to £1 million is at stake. Meanwhile the ABI is trying to sweep the whole thing under the carpet because car insurers are also under attack by the House of Commons Transport Select Committee over bungs.
