The roads minister Mike Penning has announced plans to increase the speed limit to 80 miles per hour from the 70 miles per hour speed limit that was imposed by the then transport minister Barbara Castle nearly fifty years ago.
This seems to make a lot of sense as cars have become safer. However, drivers need to be extra vigilant especially on motorways. Many car accidents are caused by drivers changing lanes without signalling or checking mirrors to make sure it is safe to change lane.
Claimants who have experienced a road traffic accident as a result of another driver changing lanes are well advised to consult a professional management company such as Vamco to pursue a claim against the other driver.
